Rebranding
the future
I never thought I’d be excited about a truck wrap design project, but this one was pretty cool.
NE-XT Technologies (formerly VSS) went through a rebranding process and needed a slogan and design for their highly visible delivery trucks transporting precision technology parts across the region.
I was one of three team strategists in a marathon concept session with the Darby O’Brien agency to settle on a slogan. We landed on: The Future Is Here. Once this was approved by the client, I designed an 8-foot by 25-foot vinyl wrap based on the company’s highest profile project creating nose landing gear for the U.S. Air Force’s F-15 combat aircraft. The plane itself emerges from a schematic x-ray state into a fully-realized image, visually enforcing the message of arrival.
The job presented intricacies designing around the truck’s placement of handles, reflectors, hinges, and a passenger-side door frame. The single image spanning the 25-foot length required a special AI-enhanced image-scaling program to create the high-resolution files needed by the printer.
NE-XT Technologies wanted a bold brand statement. They got it.
