A wordless story shows SaaS value in motion

DRG Insights

Decision Resources Group offers an Insights Platform with customer access to almost unlimited healthcare data. The challenge was to show a coherent story leading a hypothetical user through the complexity of the platform. A mobile phone with messages from a boss and a user’s checklist provides structure to the tasks. A narrative of preparing a report on breast cancer drugs is shown without words.

I worked with DRG to decide which application screens were important to showcase. Then we pieced together a plausible story why a user would navigate to those screens. Instead of screencasts of someone recording their mouse using an app, I animated the story for more control and clarity.  To simulate the app, I took screenshots of all screens, hovers and dropdowns, and animated the functionality, which allowed for subtle animation enhancements and the ability to zoom in and focus on pertinent UI elements. The motion graphic was created using Adobe Animate and Adobe Audition for sound, then exported to mp4.
