Casual gameplay entices you to spend time with the brand
When Purex Bleach wanted a casual online game to introduce their Ultra Natural Elements green detergent containing plant-based ingredients and natural fragrance extracts, I designed and developed a simple, clean and minimal Simon-style interactive memory game. Stains appear on articles of clothing, and the user must pour Purex bleach (from a bottle controlled by the mouse) on the items of clothing in the correct order. For each correct answer, the sequence of clothing gets longer. An added twist: after each successful round, the clothing shuffles to new positions. High scores were entered on the Purex leaderboard on a special microsite. Time spent on the game page averaged almost four minutes. That’s a long time, in web years, to engage with a brand.
